Hello Chippewa students and parents/guardians,
My name is Emma Hoyhtya and I’m one of the directors that is helping put on this year’s musical, Annie Jr. Before the school year gets started I wanted to make sure you all were aware of our wonderful program and inform you of some changes being made to the schedule this coming season! For those of you new to our program, the Chippewa musical is open to grades six through eight and meets for three months out of the school year immediately after school. We work on singing, dancing, and acting, and no experience is required prior to auditioning. In past years auditions have been held in late December, but this coming year we will be completely shifting the practice schedule and performance dates as follows:
- January 19 @ 2 pm Click here for a detailed but tentative rehearsal schedule. Please keep in mind this is subject to change, but can give you an idea of what can be expected of your child interested in being a part of our wonderful cast. This change in pace will result in a more intense and rigorous rehearsal schedule. I don’t say this to scare you away from auditioning, but I do want everyone to be aware that being a part of a production of this capacity can be overwhelming and isn’t for the faint of heart. Please discuss with your child/parent if it’s something you're ready to take on. If you are interested in being part of our backstage crew or tech crew, please wait for more information in a later email. We will be establishing our crew soon after auditions take place. If you are interested in being a part of the cast, audition application and sign up will be sent out electronically in early October. Every year, without fail, our cast and crew amaze me with their commitment to excellence and their ability to take on a challenge, and I know this year will be no different. If you’re interested but still have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via email ([email protected]). I look forward to hearing from you. Kindly, Emma Hoyhtya
